Aerial photo of Ohashi camp

I'm certain now I found the right camp -- the photo quotes a George McCandless, who is also listed on the cable from the Red Cross.

My dad was Hendrikus Verburgt, a Dutch-Indo sailor in the Dutch Navy, captured in Surabaya (Java). He lived in Ohasi camp for about 3 years. I have a picture of him standing outside the 2 story building in the photo below, which I think must be a very rare photo. I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who can tell me about his life here. Kind regards, Michele Verburgt Duggan

Michelle,

Let me know if you have any luck. I did recently come across these photos from the camp, but I'm pretty sure these are only the U.S. POWs. Sadly, we've been studying these for a while and I can't make out my grandfather. Ohashi camp photos at liberation
