Military increases restrictions on online communication

It's unfortunate that as al-Qaeda and the iraqi insurgency have gone full swing into using youtube and other online networks to get their message out, the U.S. military is going into full retrenchment.  The best advertising in the world our military could have is the troops themselves and the things they are posting, but no longer -- according to CNN today, the biggest social networking sites on the web will be off-limits for military networks.

Just a quick update on this one: more discussion on this over at Small Wars Journal (link to the right). Particularly concerning the availability of bandwidth, which is increasingly an issue in the field.
